We worked with striking teal, yellow, white and gold for our second styled look created for the Afro-Asian – East meets West wedding concept shoot. Exotic oriental influences paired with more subtle African indigenous and patterning touches – created a uniquely bold yet harmonious styled look. Ivory perspex Ghost chairs paired with a classic golden dining table, was adorned with a white natural raw-edge cotton runner, yellow and teal napkins, cedar wood slice chargers, vases in a mix of textured gold, black oxide, and teal glass. We worked with a combination of yellow dendrobium and cymbidium orchids paired with African Arum lilies in the floral arrangements. Teal tassels were used in the stationery to complement the Vietnamese silk lanterns suspended above the table. Exquisite bride with her striking yellow floral bouquet we designed. In an over-saturated social media market, jam packed with replicated ideas, it often seems impossible to come up with anything new. Search on Google or Pinterest and you are likely to find it has already been done numerous times. We at Ninirichi actively seek ways to always remain innovative and original when developing wedding and event styling concepts for our clients. One of my favourite strategies is to marry two seemingly opposite concepts or styles and sit back and enjoy the surprising fresh beauty that emerges! Hence the birth of this beautiful styled shoot concept of East meets West, Afro-Asia. The local elements, earthy textures, African patterns and objects are warm, tactile and familiar; whereas the oriental elements are exotic, dramatic and dreamy. Is that not what a marriage is all about – the merging of two separate lives to create a new and unique unified identity? The starting point for each design was the selection of unique natural linens from Set The Table. The colour schemes stemmed from pairing the linen choices with our décor elements that best popped. We then chose floral forms that best suited the containers and rental furniture pieces and cutlery that complemented the looks. We then briefed The Design Lot of the stationery concepts and sourced earthy statement garments and accessories from Lunar Life and The Space to bring it all together. We are trilled to finally release this magnificent French-Polynesian Gauguin inspired styled shoot. We are proud to be part of this amazing Tickled Pink Weddings and Events initiative. A team of top industry vendors pulled out all the stops to create this sumptuous visual feast. We hope you enjoy viewing these images as much as we all enjoyed creating them. The Invitation: This beautiful invitation set, establishes the scene for our tropical destination visual journey… A sophisticated combination of colour, texture, pattern and tropical imagery; finished off with simple styling touches. The wedding ceremony scene: Raw stick altar draped with flowers and decorated with foliage and shells. Rustic bamboo chairs with teal cushions and floral lei’s for each guest. Aisle covered in palm leaves and decorated with shells and flowers. Traditional anointing wedding ceremony – priest pouring water from shell over bridal couple’s hands. Our home city Johannesburg is a rich source of inspiration; from her history, culture and diversity, to her gritty textures, vibrant colours, abundant creativity and exceptional skills and talents that abound. We created a striking shoot; jam packed with bespoke details that will be sure to leave a lasting impression and encourage brides to think outside the box and express their inner African Queen! Make a bold statement with your first touch point – This striking invitation set will leave guests intrigued and excited to attend your big day celebration. Hand-made Shwe-Shwe fabric envelopes, bound with beaded sisal twine and punched name-tags. We utilized Amy’s beautiful gritty background texture photos from our site visit to 1 Fox – The Sheds (a decommissioned dynamite factory in the heart of Jozi); over which we layered bold typographic details and colour pop silhouette graphics. Individual information cards bound with a gold split-pin to form a fan-out pinwheel. Bespoke crafted signage concept – a great recognizable detail to place at the venue entrance to lead guests in the right direction as they arrive. Ninirichi Stylings with partnership with Tickled Pink Weddings and Events and As Sweets as Images Photography produced this beautiful African Colonial bush lodge wedding styled shoot concept. It was wonderful to style a wedding inspired by our homeland – the history, the people, the textures, the colours, the wildlife, the plants and flowers, the light, the fire, the scent of the air… “Why is it you can never hope to describe the emotion Africa creates? You are lifted. Out of whatever pit, unbound from whatever tie, released from whatever fear. You are lifted and you see it all from above.” ~ Francesca Marciano, “Rules of the Wild”. Charlotte from Ninirichi Style Studio created this gorgeous invitation. Embossed leather-look envelope folder housing layered information cards. A intricate damask lace-like pattern was designed to frame the couples names – built up from silhouettes of Bushveld trees, plants, flowers and smaller birds and smaller African animals. We steered away from the typical “Big 5” animals; we wanted to show the beauty in the small details of the African wild. We decorated the fireplace mantel piece with masses of indigenous flowers and twigs to create a textured backdrop for these lovely fireside posed shots. We created a large rustic bridal bouquet from pin-cushions, fynbos brunia, succulents, flax and moss. Beautiful bridesmaid dress – champagne satin with black botanical lace bodice detail.
